FEMALE ARRESTED FOR KIDNAPPING

On November 1st, 2024 at approximately 4:02 p.m. the Del Rio Police Department responded to the area of the 1000 block of Chapman Road for a 911 hang-up. Del Rio Communication told police, a female was heard screaming and crying when the emergency call was disconnected. Dispatch Center attempted to call back, but no answer was received.


Upon arrival police saw a female standing near the entrance to a property wearing medical style scrubs. A second female was at the scene sitting inside a vehicle driver’s side.


Police learned both females were residents of Eagle Pass, Texas. The caller reported the driver picked her up from her place of employment and both engaged in a verbal dispute inside the vehicle. The driver drove around Eagle Pass, Texas not allowing the female to exit the vehicle. The driver then drove to Del Rio, TX, and allegedly threatened to cause serious bodily injury or death placing the caller in fear.


The caller told police she attempted to place an emergency call, but her cell phone was taken away. She was later able to regain access to her cellphone and called police for assistance. The caller had visible redness to her left leg and arm indicative of a physical struggle. No medical assistance was required for the caller or the driver.


The driver identified as Kaylee Ayana Valdez; 23 yrs. of age was arrested and charged with the offense of Kidnapping. Valdez was transported to the Police Station for processing, she was later released to the custody of GEO Correctional Facility pending registration process.
