DISTRICT WORKING ON CLASSROOM SECURITY COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS
The District’s Technology Department is in the process of completing a security upgrade to the Carehawk Safety Communication System at secondary campuses. The Carehawk System is the intercom system for schools that alerts staff and students during emergencies. District administration would like to advise parents that while work is being done on this system, a malfunction could potentially occur and trigger the Paxton System to issue a false alarm.
Upgrades have been completed at Del Rio Freshman School and Del Rio Middle School with no issues. However, after upgrades were completed at Blended Academy and San Felipe Memorial School, a malfunction occurred today that triggered false alarms. The District would like to reassure parents that the Technology Department is working diligently to troubleshoot the issue with key technicians and support teams from both security companies.
Another systems test is scheduled after school hours on Friday to ensure all systems are functioning properly
