Unidentified Person of Interest, Male, Age 18-30
ASSAILANT AT LARGE: DRPD REQUESTS HELP FROM PUBLIC TO IDENTIFY SUSPECT: Del Rio Police Department officers responded to a reported assault that occurred on E. 2nd Street, April 11, 2025. The victim was attacked by a stranger while walking alone along a residential block, late on a Friday night. The victim’s injuries sent her to the hospital. Detectives were able to uncover surveillance images of a male that matched a description provided by the victim, but police have not yet identified the individual. After 10 days of searching, the police decided to publish photos of the suspect on April 25. Their press release asked for help from the community. DRDP said, “If you recognize the individual or have any information that may assist in this investigation, please contact the Del Rio Police Department Communication Center at (830) 774-2711.”

4/15/25 6:15PM (Tuesday)
Roberto Estrade, Male, Age 41
DRPD published a press release on April 16 regarding vandalism to a local business, they included reports of the suspect’s motive: “The male subject had a pickaxe with him and told police he intentionally caused the damage to the building because he wished to be arrested.” The vandal committed his crime in broad daylight, in front of witnesses. Details on this case are limited. DRPD explained in their press release that the suspect was “arrested and charged with the offense of Criminal Mischief > $2,500 < $30,000.” Additional related evidence suggests the incident occurred at Dovalina Law, PLLC, accident attorneys’ office on Garfield Street. Images circled social media on April 15 of vandalism at the same time and location as Estrade arrest. Four of the Dovalina Law storefront windows were smashed.

4/20/25 8:55 AM (Sunday)
Amos Alexander Calderon, Male, Age 21
A routine traffic stop escalated into a high-speed chase when a silver Nissan Rogue, driven by Calderon, ignored police signals. Calderon recklessly sped through streets, exceeding 80 mph, disregarding stop signs, and driving in the wrong lane. The chase ended dramatically as Calderon crashed into a utility pole at the intersection of W. Garza and Cantu Street, after which he attempted to flee on foot, jumping a fence and trying to enter a nearby residence before being apprehended by police. DRPD published a press release on April 22, describing the incident. Police provided his charges in a press release: “Calderon was arrested for Reckless Driving and Evading Arrest Detention with a Vehicle.”
